During the summer of 2024, I participated in Epidemiology research at a nearby university. Our group of four high school students focused on developing an early screening tool for Breast Cancer using Machine Learning. Our goal was to effectively determine whether or not someone has breast cancer based on certain medical features. The screening tool can serve as an affordable, reliable way to screen for breast cancer at an early stage. During the month working on this project, we pushed to perfect our AI model, earning an eventual high accuracy.
2025
VEX Robotics Team 8880A ProgrammingAdelphi University STEP Program
I programmed this year's robot as part of the VEX robotics team 8880A. The robot had an autonomous function to pick up field discs and outtake them to several mobile stake goals, within the 15 second autonomous period to score the AWP (Autonomous Win Point). Our drivetrain this year was a simple 4-motor and 6-wheel drivetrain, as we had tried in previous years. To intake, we had a mini wheel contraption to catch the discs on the ground and a belt to bring the discs from the bottom to the top where it would then be dropped onto the stake for a point. A pneumatic-powered clamp on the back of the robot secures the mobile stake goal to the robot so that it can tilt toward the robot, making it easier to score on the goal. The clamp also allows for the robot to move around while carrying the stake to score the stakes in the corners of the field.
